The Flare Game| ‘70s Trend With Ease

Skinnies, take a seat.

Love, Flare!

Skinny jeans move back. Please give way to the unsung hero of the denim world. For the last few years denim world has been dominated of skinny silhouettes. Skinny jeans have stayed on top for so long. I never thought I'd see so many stylish women abandoning their skinny jeans to embrace the wide-leg, the bell-bottom, and the kick-flare for the last season. Yes! Yes! Flares are back from the seventies with a vengeance. Flares emerged out of their cave of uncoolness to make a stand once again, trouncing down the runways and on the streets on the legs of editors, bloggers and street style stars.

If you're a skinny-leg loyalist, if you've put Flares in a no-go zone because you think they'll be unflattering or hard to pull of, let me explain: bells help elongate your stems, especially with higher waists and platforms, so you'll look extra lean. The ultimate leg-lengthener. It balance hips and flatters every figure.

But of course some styling tricks are required: You have to be aware of your waist. Don't pair it overly long tops and a heel, a pair of wedges or platform clogs really takes the leg-lengthening aspect to your height. Flared jeans is about dressing like you mean it. It's not about lazy dressing.

I'm skinny and petite (ever since!Boo!) so proportion is everything. I've seen slimming capabilities of flare jeans. It will make me look extra thin (though, I'm super thin already!haa!) and I don't want that. I added a a sleek striped crop top to create an illusion of a wider upper half.

From Victoria Beckham and Nicole Richie to Local celebrities and tons of our favorite style bloggers, we found tons of flare-kick inspiration that will make you  switch things up and  put your skinny jeans to rest.

If your skinnies are made to blend in, flares are made to stand out.

So do yourself a favor and try flared jeans!

#AIESECGlobalRunway

DYINGGGGGGGGGGG! I'm so incredibly happy  and thrilled to announce that I'm part of AIESEC Global Runway with guest celebrity  stylist Kaye Awatin of thestyleflux.blogspot.com/ and guest celebrity model Katarina Rodriguez, finalist of Asia's Next Top Model.

When I posted this ad on Facebook, a friend of mine asked me if  I'm going to walk the runway. No! No! I'm not a model here. (How I wish, I am!hahaha) I won't walk, but my task is a lot more exciting and fun than gracing the runway. This time I'll be working behind the scene and I know that it will be a load of fun. I'll be one of the wardrobe stylists for the show! Wooohooooooo! It was a dream come true! I'm so thankful and honoured to have this opportunity. Ahhhhh! I' ll also be working with Bryan Sochayseng my co-stylist. We're both excited for the big event! First timer, alert.

What I Wore: Fashion Week

Well, fashion week just flew by. What had happened was simply one of a kind experience for me. I can't get over. The glitz and glamour, me being surrounded with beautiful and fashionable crowd was simply amazing. It's the most exciting point in my fashion diary. But there's one question circling around my mind before the big day: "WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR??" "WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR??" "WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR??"!!! haha! Seriously! I was in a greater degree of panic than usual because in this event, what you wear really matters.

Just a little bit of *BANG*

Aaaaand I'm back with a bang. (Kiddin) I'm so back with a new blog! Been so lazy these past few weeks. I've been quite busy juggling part time study with full time work. Few  more weeks to go and this semester will be over. Yey! Can't believe time flies so fast and just  two weeks from now September is over. I can't believe that it flown just like that. October is fast approaching  Thirdie and I been waiting for it every year. But this year will be so special we'll be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary being a "magjowa".  3 years but I feel like it was just yesterday, tho. (haha!) Nuuux!

The weeklong celebration of student's week started last Tuesday.  For me it will be just like an ordinary week in the university. But there's something I like about it. Student who aren't so active in participating in some scheduled events/programs (I'm referring to my self, tho) can just celebrate by strutting their OOTD's for a week.

I fancied wearing a casual and carefree look, opting for my jersey like top. I rocked my white canvas shoes and my forever 21 pencil skirt.

I added a bit of bang with my dad's old school Ray ban aviator that's older than me. My was so maporma when he was young too. Like daughter, like fathers! Woops! Like father, like daughter. Hahaha

Bright seashell on the hall

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

As lazy summer days come to an end and studious new beginnings await, now is the time to gear up and revamp our *Back-to-school* wardrobe.  Hide your summer staples for the meanwhile and bring out your laid-back yet stylish and law-abiding pieces for school dress code. Looking stylish but still meet the pesky school dress code is not a problem at all. ( Remember, compliance is a must. Right?) You can still rock the fashion boat with your school-appropriate outfits.

The printed shirt and brightly hued jeggings encapsulates my idealized version of Summer paradise. It inspires images of fun-filled summer, seaside and lazing on a sunny days. Let my shirt speak my mind=Sea, shell, shore. Oh take me back to the beach!  Take me to the seaside. T.T
I let my inner *summer kind of girl* shine through without sacrificing my I.D (If you get what I mean. haha!)
My shirt reminds me of the tongue twisted:

She  sells  seashells, By the seashore.
The shells  she  sells, Are surely seashells.
So if she  sells  shells, On the seashore,
I'm sure she  sells, Seashore  shells.

(Got my tongue twisted here. hahaha)

TIPS:
1. Soft jeans, or an even softer tee, will have you stylishly roaming the halls.
2. Splashing some hue is not a bad idea at all.
3. Finding the right footwear is must.
4. Back to basic and do some uber stylish twist.

Valentino inspired studded sandals-Thrifted

Beat the heat

Sun is shining bright. The long wait to hit the beach is over. After almost a year of  craving for the smell of the warm sea breeze, sound of crashing waves and the soft sand. Ahhhhh! Finally!!! I was so eager for this long awaited summer mini vacay to begin (longing to be in relaxation mode).  Finally it came. Two days ago I were in a place where I called home. The beach/Sea. I'm definitely a beach babe. There's something in it that I can't resist.

Summer is the best time to be adventurous with your outfits! You can wear whatever you want as long as you're comfortable wearing it. I love dressing up in Summer because there's no restrictions with colors and prints. The brighter and the louder ensembles, the better.

I paired up my neon green bandeau with a high waist denim shorts. Denim shorts are a go-to piece that's perfect to wear in Summer, they are a no-brainer! They're just as versatile as pants but with a more relaxed, summer feel. Whether you pair them with a lightweight crop top or a fringe bandeau, it won’t let you down.

Summer is the perfect time to bring out all your hats. It shields our face from the harmful UV rays but it can also instantly up the ante of your summer attire.

Last but not the least, my favorite piece the heart shaped sunnies. Every style setter must have  an eye-catchingly and unique pair of sunnies.

I am a huge fan and supporter of shopping local. I love stores that offers affordable yet unique and hard to find pieces.

Summer getaway won't be complete without my favorite buddies in life.

Oh t'was for the sake of a good creative photo. Haha (so let's define effort! )

 Happy Summer Everyone!

Stay tuned for more.

Leather, all the way!

Happy Thursday, lovely stylers!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been very busy lately. Here's my delayed post for the third portion of Vividium shoot a month ago with a good friend of mine, Joshua Pastor.

I knew I'll never go wrong to drape my self with a kick-ass leather combo. I punched my ensemble with a leather jacket and a perforated leather boxer shorts. I added extra lift to look very chic with a pair of heeled ankle booties. Lastly I knockout my look with confidence to have an A+ ensemble.

Read between the lines

Happy Sunday Stylers! Here's another one from Vividium shoot last week.

Whoever said horizontal stripes aren’t  flattering has obviously not tried them on a leather skirt.  Give an edgy yet preppy spin to a traditionally punk pattern by adding up a floppy hat and a touch of white pointed shoes.

I love how this timeless color combo and pattern works perfectly together.  Black and white and a pattern that never go out style. Stripes and B&W is one of the most classic pieces you can possibly have in your wardrobe!

I hope you like it stylers!

I'll be needing your help and support. I'll let you know and keep updated on my next post.

VIVIDIUM

Hi there lovely stylers! I'm back and alive again. I really missed blogging. Got a blogger problem lately, no photog. so heartbreaking. T.T It's been a while since the last time I updated my blog. I'm hoping that you miss it too. Anyway, here's my catch up post, I hope you like it. :*

Two weeks ago a very close friend of mine asked me to do a favor. He wanted me to be part of a TVC as their output for there finals. Of course I said Yes, who am I to turn it down. The offer is from a great man, so why not. From that day on I got so excited coz knowing him for a very long time, his creative sense, juices and eye, it's a great privilege for me to work with him.

It was my first to film a video.  I was a bit nervous at first. But because I'm working with my friend and his classmates that never made me feel that I'm different from them, I felt so at ease in the latter part of the shoot.
Vividium from the word Vivid meaning producing powerful feelings or strong, clear images in the mind.
Part of understanding fashion is knowing how to throw together an outfit that’ll take you everywhere. Outfit that is so versatile, that you can wear anywhere you  want to go. The theme for this shoot is laid back, wearing clothes that you're comfortable with but will make you fashionable at the same time.

I bang on trend with this relaxed ensemble.  I kicked back in a jersey crop top, strappy heels and a distressed denim jeans.  Keep in mind that distressed denim can be a drop-dead gorgeous thing, but it can also give off a bit of a thrash metal vibe—eek. Do some styling trick to ensure you look chic.

Jeans win the award for wardrobe staple. Skinny, cropped or over-sized, no matter what style, jeans  have a special place in my wardrobe.  Jeans are a style saviour that are so easy to wear. Dressing them up with a pair of high heels or keep it casual with an over-sized tee.

Jeans are a simple staple that can be styled statement. Skinny or slouchy, acid wash or bleached, they’re our denim do-gooders. No wonder why I'm a denim kind of chic.

Night or day, do your thing in denim!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it?

XOXO
